Sometimes pimples don’t just go away completely after patching (or popping) them. Especially if you’re a chronic pimple-popper you’ve probably dealt with your fair share of post-blemish marks or even some redness and dryness.

This can also happen even if you don’t pop a pimple. Known as post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, or PIH, these spots appear as darker pigmented marks left over from an already healed pimple. They can basically pop up after any type of inflammatory acne has healed and the skin produces too much melanin resulting in the dark spots.

But not all post-blemish marks are dark spots. On lighter skin tones, post-blemish marks tend to appear as red spots, which is called post-inflammatory erythema, or PIE.

If you tend to get post-blemish marks once your acne has healed then you know how long it can take for these spots to go away on their own.

How to treat post-blemish marks

But, not all is lost. You can still treat post-blemish marks and help fade the look of discoloration with certain topical ingredients.

Both PIH and PIE spots can be treated with topicals including some reparative and brightening ingredients like Ceramides, Niacinamide, and Tranexamic Acid. Ceramides help replenish the skin barrier and soothes dryness while ingredients like Niacinamide and Tranexamic Acid are powerhouses for brightening.

Cue our newest launch: the Post-Blemish Corrector with Ceramide

If you’ve noticed that post-patching you sometimes deal with some unwanted dryness or lingering post-blemish marks once the blemish has healed, our Post-Blemish Corrector can help restore moisture and fade the look of discoloration.

What’s in the Post-Blemish Corrector

Our Post-Blemish Corrector contains Ceramide, Peptides, 3% Niacinamide, 2% Tranexamic Acid, and Aloe. The combination of restoring and brightening ingredients helps tackle all post-blemish issues from flakiness to discoloration.

Here’s a quick breakdown on each superstar ingredient in the Post-Blemish Corrector:

💧Ceramide - Supports the skin barrier and helps hydrate the skin

🛡️Peptides - Helps restore and repair post-blemish skin

☀️Niacinamide - Brightens uneven tone and nourishes the skin barrier

🧪Tranexamic Acid - Helps fade discoloration, including red and brown spots

🌱Aloe - Soothes and hydrates the skin

Post-blemish skin can look a couple of different ways. Some may experience flakiness after using spot treatments on a now-healed pimple, while others may be left with some lingering redness or dark spots.

Brightening and discoloration-targeting ingredients like Niacinamide and Tranexamic Acid work together to help fade dark spots without the harsh after-effects like bleaching from ingredients like Hydroquinone.

Restorative, hydrating ingredients like Ceramide, Peptides, and Aloe help soothe discomfort from dryness, support the skin barrier, and calm redness. This can especially help restore the skin after the use of any harsh exfoliants that may have dried out a pimple a little too much.

Botanicals like Rosemary, Heartleaf, Tea Tree, and Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate (from Licorice Plant) further help provide the skin with some soothing benefits to help calm redness from blemishes.

How to use the Post-Blemish Corrector

The Post-Blemish Corrector is best used as a post-patching step or to help with existing post-blemish discoloration. So, if you’ve just finished patching up a now-healed blemish but there seems to be some redness or dark spot left behind, then you can apply the Post-Blemish Corrector to help with post-blemish marks.

Or, if you find that you are dealing with some drying side effects from an exfoliant or spot treatment on a healed pimple, then the Post-Blemish Corrector can also help restore hydration to the spot and can soothe any discomfort from dryness.

To use the Post-Blemish Corrector just follow these simple steps:

  1. Cleanse and dry the targeted spot.
  2. Take a small amount of product and apply it directly to the spot.
  3. Leave on, no need to rinse.
  4. Apply up to twice a day to help post-blemish recovery.

As a final tip, don’t forget to be consistent. While we’ve packed some pretty great ingredients into this product, it’s not an overnight miracle worker, so be sure to consistently apply the Post-Blemish Corrector to any problem spots as needed.
